Back to Winning Ways

by

After a disappointing start to the season for the 1st XI it was great to get back to winning ways against one of the Premier League title contenders Exmouth. After being asked to bowl first Exeter made an excellent start reducing Exmouth to 41-4, England Under19 star Ben Green and George Greenway doing the early damage. A fantastic spell from Dom Bess 1-19 off 10 limited further progress for Exmouth. Exmouth's final total of 103 only reached with the help of a 9th wicket partnership from the much travelled Alvin Pollard (where will he go next?) and Finlay Marks. It took the skipper Miles Lenygon to finish proceedings. In reply it turned out to be a formality with the loss of one wicket Zak Bess (13), Rob Homan and Lorenzo Machedo completed the task knocking off the runs with no troubles. Rob finished 60no and Lorenzo 30no. Exeter 20 pts Exmouth 0pts
